I recently heard a podcast about discovering our true passion.  The speaker suggested that we search our childhood memories for that activity we never wanted to stop for any reason.  As I recalled those memories I realized that is where I began “Shift & Style”! 

During the warmer months as a child, my decorating accessories where a cradle, a child’s stove and ironing board & iron.  And lots of cardboard boxes that could be any piece of furniture I wanted.  These were shifted daily in the back yard to create new imaginary home spaces.  The dolls to inhabit those spaces included a baby doll that wet, a Chatty Cathy and a Barbie.  My treasured accessories were added to yearly from birthday and Christmas gifts.

As a preteen and teenager, that space became my bedroom.  Move furniture, change what was displayed on the surfaces, change curtains and bed linens from winter to summer all fueled my love of “Shift & Style”.  Even “antiquing” 9 pieces of bedroom furniture was a whole summer project!  Sharing my styled spaces with friends gave me so much pleasure.  And seeing their spaces added to my love of all the unique expressions of Style. 

Now, I begin my long awaited desire to help others create their unique space. Shift & Style” (me) is all about using what you have right now to create a space that you when you walk through the door you think “Awe, I am home”!
